Not a lot the density is a little greater but not much. i went from kent to HEVI-SHOT and that has made a huge difference i went from shooting geese with 3 1/2 BB at 0-40yd to shooting HEVI #2 in 3 inch from 0-60 yd. and if you can reload it it is alot cheaper.
I watched the FLYWAY guy on cable tv...ever watch that show? Upper state NY, and they were allowed 25 snow geese! They shot 3 1/2" shells loaded with BB size steel, and dumped 7 lb snows real good. But your HEVI-SHOT is a lot harder hitting load because of the density. Good move. All about the distance most of your shots are at as you no doubt know.
And the gun the FLYWAY guy used was the new REM autoloader, but what a military looking, maybe a nite vision looking gun he ended up with by putting a scope looking site attatchment that fit below the barrel, and he had a camcorder mounted on top so you could make U-tubes with your shooting...beastly looking thing.
