Q:
Does anyone know what the law is in illinois about turkey hunting? do i have to win a draw to get a tag or can i go out and get one like a deer tag? (I'm hunting private land if it matters)

whitetailkf, your local DNR or fish and wildlife authorities can be a great source of information for such questions. In most states, you can log in to their web page and search for the answers to such questions, you may find all kinds of interesting info there. Good luck.

have you tried looking on the Illinois department of natural resources web sight ? they can give you the answer's you need .

i didn't know they let you own firearms in illinois.

I would search on the internet for the DNR laws or pick up a pamphlet. I also remember hearing that if you live in Illinois and you own more than 40 acres of land, you are able to hunt without picking up a tag.
