Ok, so I have a 12 and 20 gauge o/u and a 12 gauge automatic what should I use for turkey hunting?

I don't know (this is my first turkey season) but I'm using my 12 gauge semi auto
If your a small framed female or a child than use a 20 gauge otherwise the 12 gauge is the wise choice. I myself am using a 12 gauge semi automatic. Good luck whitetailkif!
I prefer 12, but 20 gauge will work for turkey. Which one has a screw in or full choke? Use teh full choke or a screw in turkey choke. Use the combination of gun & shells that gives you the tightest pattern. I usually pattern at about 25 yards then check it at 40 to see what the pattern looks like at my outer range.
My wife hunts turkeys with a 20 gauge and I hunt with a 12 gauge. The 12 gauge you will have a little more range. Either one will work though.
I would use the 12 ga semi-auto with a turkey tube and high-density #6 shot turkey loads.

Either will kill a turkey just fine as long as you hit it. The 12 gauge improves your odds by carrying more shot in the pattern. With turkey hunting, you are trying to get a pellet to hit the head or neck. That is why manufacturers even develop special shot for turkey loads. Del's load in a 12 gauge will have plenty of shot to ding a turkey with no problem. Good luck!
Which ever gun you shoot better! and like some of the others said, if one of the guns has a better pattern out to 30yds or so Id shoot that one. But any of them will kill turkeys. Good luck
I'd go with the 12 gauge semi-auto with a full or estra full choke. Use high density shot and pattern your gun to see what it likes best as far as shot size.
It doesnt matter i use a 20 ga rem 870 with 3 inch turkey loads..any of them will work just get the right ammo.
I use 12 gauge but any one of them is a great choice to kill the turkey!!!
Read the review on the new Federal Tungsten 20 ga. 3" shell turkey loads...1 1/2 oz of heavy shot, and a super performer.
They are expensive, but how many shots to you use hunting turkeys? They make a 20 ga. a very effective ga. for turkeys.
They come in #7 shot, and number #6 shot. Number 7's have the hitting power of #5 shot in lead, and put a whole lot of pellets in the kill zone.
