I have bow hunted for over 15 years now and I have used a gamut of archery products including broadheads.
I have used fixed broadheads like Magnus and Muzzy and many different mechanicals.
I personally prefer mechanical to fixed because of the easy tunability and massive wound channels. Rage 2 blade has a 2 inch cutting diameter. You can't get that with fixed. I have used 100 grain mechanicals on javelina, Dahl Rams and white tails. Their awsome
I'm also impressed with the rage broadheads from coyotes, deer, to elk. Big holes and easy bloodtrails, of course didn't need the bloodtrails because they all dropped within sight.
Go with a fixed blade head. I have heard many bad story's about the rage. My brother lost a really big buck this past season because the head didn't open. I shoot SlickTricks, the buck and turkey I shot this year died within 50yds. They fly exactly like field points and can blow through the shoulder bone on a deer.
Why would you try to shoot through heavy brush and mud? That makes no sense. Rage works on a slip cam, if you look at it you will see why it opens on contact.
clintsurber, I plan on passably doing some hunting in the mountain and lowland of Papua New Guinea, and I am not entirely sure what the conditions would be like, though I have experienced that during the rainy season, mud can get everywhere, and there is heavy brush all around.
Well the rage went through both shoulders on the whitetail buck and one shoulder bone on the elk, I could put my chew can through the hole in the elk shoulder. My only gripe is that on long crawl through sagebrush that its best to keep the arrow in the quiver had a bad habit of catching on sage and opening.

MUZZY! 100 grain
I like the Rage 2 broadhead as well. It can inflict some damage, but always make the shot count first
