I don't understand how anyone can tell you why you like to do something, or why expense should even matter if you like to do it.

Bow hunting, in most situations, is more expensive. The reason you like one type of hunting over another is only important to you. Who cares, just get out there.

i don't think it is any of their business why you like to bow hunt and i don't think they know what they are talking about. i got into bow hunting because it gave me more time to be in the field and longer hunting seasons. just do your thing.

Yeah I think it's ridiculous people try and tell you why you enjoy something, especially because of the monetary side of it. My dad has always told me no bowhunting because it's too expensive, and I dont have time. Last time I checked, i'm 19, make my own money and dont need someone validating what I spend my money on. Just like I dont need to validate his four wheeler purchase. Im gonna get through this season muzzleloading, and in the spring i plan on buying a bow. Just have to do what you enjoy!

Exactly as above, the average bow is probably around the same price as most average guns out there. You may spend less on arrows to shoot then you would on ammo unless you lose them all in the woods. But I'm with everyone else hunt and shoot what you want. I have shot guns, never hunted with one, but I think I'm a lot better shot with a bow and enjoy the fact that I have to get a lot closer to make a shot, and not just dial in the scope and drop a deer at 150yds.

Remind that guy that his purpose in life is to make you look smart by his appearing so dumb. Sounds like he is doing a good job.

I have a bow-hunting friend who has spent more money than I have. Of course, I don't spend nearly what I used to when I was single.

You can get a really fancy bow for the cost of a base Remington, but he spends way more on accessories, and arrows than I do on reloading my ammo.

Bow hunting is much more expensive I spend much more on it. And because I have to shoot more with a bow to be a better shot then with a gun so that cost me in gas that just one way but in my option it is more expensive. sent killer broad heads field points arrows. In my state it coast more to hunt with a bow because you have to buy a bow license.

i dont know why there are so many answers saying bowhunting is more expensive. what are you guys talking about??? i spent 400 on my bow (package), compared to people i know who buy 700 dollar rifles. i spent 20 dollars on arrows, compared to people who spend 20 dollars on ammo everytime they shoot, and i spent about 200 dollars on treestands.
