Go on the internet and check out the Virgina Fish and Wildlife. They will give you all the state, federal and public lands that you can hunt, within your area of Fredericksburg. Good Luck.
Thankyou for your service to our country. I hope many will allow you to hunt. If i had land i would.
Check with the city management folks. They often have a lot to do with these urban culling projects and may have some inside information that would help. Barring that, I strongly recommend that you take out an ad in the paper mentioning all of the above. I will let you be the judge of whether or not you should mention being in the Navy. Sad to say, many of the servicemen hunting around bases tend to produce a bad reputation with the local folks. I'm a disabled US vet and I do see a lot of prejudice against servicemen hunters in my home state of Montana. Too many slob hunters will make the whole highly visible barrel rotten. Anyway, if you're familiar with the area you will probably be a better judge as to whether mentioning your service connection is a good or bad idea. Taking out an ad is a good idea I think. If you decide to do that, perhaps you might want to pick up a disposable cell and/or another disposable email address. I'm sure you'll get a lot of crank calls from PETA types. Sometimes we have to wade through a little crap to see some results. Good luck. I really mean that! Damn deer in the city need to be cleaned up. Just this year they opened a deer archery season in my town (110,000) and I hear it went very well.
I don't know about hunting in Virginia, but would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your service.
