Q:
Hey guys. I need some help. I have gotten really interested in Coyote hunting, but my problem is I have no idea how to call for them. All my kills have been lucky finds, or walk ins while calling for deer or Turkey. Should I invest in a rabbit in distress call, or what? Help with techniques would be nice too.

get one of these, this covers your distress and howler and it comes with a how to DVD.

Check out primos mastering the art pred. pack. Just Got mine in the mail, I have not had it in the woods yet but it comes with a three hour video that will show you alot about the sport and how to use the calls. It comes with two differnt distress calls doesn't take much to sound good after watching the dvd. Next best thing to having hands on with someone who is experienced. Good Luck!

I would start off with a hand call because they are inexpensive just in case you decide you don't really like it. If you are going to be going in cold weather, I would suggest an open reed call because they wont freeze up like closed reed calls will. Primos is a pretty trusted band, crit'r call, Circe, just do some research and just start off simple with a animal in distress call. If you really get into it then you can get howls and what not.

For a great electronic call check out the johnny stewarts...They're decently priced but they work great. The set includes 3 different chips with four different calls on each one, my favorite being the rabbit in distress....This call works great on Pa yotes and they dont get much tougher than that.
