I practice and hunt with 1 pin. You get to know your bow quickly most bows that shoot over 260fps will do well with this set up i don't ever shoot over 40 yards lets keep it ethical the animals we harvest deserve it.
2 I can shoot my Mathews out to 40 yards with 2 pins one at 20 on at 40 and I could shoot out to 50 with just a little elevation, If MY skills would allow it.
I use five, 20, 30, 40, 45, 50. I am consistantly inside a 6" circle at 50 by the time the season starts. I take a break from January 2nd till April then start shooting again, 25 shots a session.
2 pins 20 and 40 yards. I started with more but found that is was too many I can confidently make a shot on a deer out to 40 yards which is my comforatable limit.
3 pins, 30, 40 & 50 yard, the 30 yard is only ¾ inch from the 50 and I can guesstimate 60 accurately. Bow is a HCA 4 Runner, 28 inch Gold Tip behind a 100 grain 3 blade Muzzy launched at 310 fps and 50 yards I can shoot a palm size group. The 30 yard pin is dead on for tree stand shots!
CPT BRAD, need to get that bow tuned! Guy my Bow Tech at Mossy Point Outfitters & Supplies, 240 Cloverleaf Plz, Van Buren, AR 72956 (479) 474-5254 does all my work.
A properly tuned and equipped bow makes all the difference in the world, NO JOKE!
3 pins, 15 25 and 35, when i shot 3d i used 5 15 20 25 30 35 but for hunting that just covers too much of the target, and a deer doesn't have a 10 ring.
I have 5 pins. 10,20,30,40 and 50. You just never know when you'll need to take a shot at 50 because if a trophy buck decides to turn around or take a different route and you have a clear shot from 50+, you better believe I'm taking the opportunity.
3 pins, 20, 30, 40 yards. I have cosnsidered upgrading to five though because I have just recently started to shoot at a lot of 3D shoots and it would be more practical for those short and long range shots.
i use 5 pin sights, im comfortable shooting up to 60 yrds, and i have had to take shots over 50 yrds! i hunt along edges of fields so not to many obstructions
I have a Clearwater PowerMag bow. It's an old school bow, but it is a deer slayer. My first pin shoots 10/20 yards the 2nd pin is 30 and the third is 40. I have tight 40 yard groups and I am very comfortable with taking long shots. I ave killed a deer at 55 yards with a bow. If I need to shoot further that 40 yards, I just know how my bow shoots and I hold high.

FIVE but the fifth is useless it'd have to be below the pin housing to be sighted in. Mostly I have 'em for 3D.
4, 15, 30, 45, AND 60 YARDS.
1 but its an ajustable sight... problem is I dont have a range finder so I'm left guessing.
I currently have 3, <25, 35, 45 yd. but i'm considering just two for the future.

I used to use 18, 25 and 35, but if I get back into bow hunting I may go down to two also. 15yd and 30yd. In between I think I can adjust.
Four. Fifth is too low on my new sight. Used to setup at 15, 25, etc. but switched to 20, 30, etc. last season.
2 I can shoot my Mathews out to 40 yards with 2 pins one at 20 on at 40 and I could shoot out to 50 with just a little elevation, If MY skills would allow it.
2, one at 20 yards other at 35.
I don't use the 45 yd pin in hunting situations, but if i was hunting a field, i can see where i might. i do practice it.
3 pins for hunting in the East where a long shot will be 35 yards.
5 pins when I hunt out West where a long shot will be 60 yds.
I have to work very hard to get comfortable at 60 yds.
4 pins. 10 yrd, 15, 20, and a 30.
3- 20, 30, 40. Thats with the sight that came on the bow. Thinking of getting something different.
5-15,20,30,40,50
2 15 and 30

5 pins, 10,20,30,40,50. Out in the west, you need to shoot 40 sometimes (open country, think pronghorn). The 50 yard pin is for $h*ts and giggles.
Five- 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 yds. I can't shoot well past 30 yards.
3 - 20, 30, & 40 yards
3. 10, 20 , 30 yards
3 sights - 20, 30, & 40
1 pin........I got the new centurion from sword acusite its the best ive ever used

I only have one pin because I hunt in fairly thick woods and I don't really have shots available over 25 yards.

with the speed of my bows i use 3 pins, they will get me out to 40 yards. i'm not a big fan of shooting at game any further than that.
3 because anything past 45 yards im not going to shoot at. My bow isn't that fast.
3 pins, 20,30,and 40. cant go wrong with that
Usually 3 15,25, and 35 yard pins, this year I have 4 on my new bow set for 10, 20, 30, and 40 yards.
