Q:
is there any truth to the old saying hunt high in the morning and low in the afternoon.i know about thermals,but do deer move this way.

Yes and no. Alot depends on where the deer are bedding and feeding. Local stimulus, hunting pressure, road noise, livestock and animals, Things of that sort. Alot also happens to due with the weather. I have seen a good amount of does in the low areas this season. Buck trails not far in from the edges. Havent seen much in the way of trails in the higher ups as of yet. See alot of that later in the season up here.

Where I hunt, there is a lot of truth to this saying. I hunt in the mountains in va, the deer seem to bed at the top of the mountains, so the higher up you are in the morning better chance you got, plus thermals are working in your favor. Hunt lower in the evenings when they are coming back to the valley. all depends on the area, but from a stand point of thermals, its a must.

thanks its kinda like i thought it all depends on the food. acorns are about gone,brouse,and the fields are all that is left.the 9 year old clear cut on my property is the bedding area.cool ive noticed more deer every week. thanks again
