They have less recoil and deliver a pretty good punch...whether or not they are "better" depends on how the shooter defines "better" I would guess.
20 gauges are lighter, faster and still pack a good punch on impact. Not to mention a joy to shoot.
12 guages have better yardage than a 20 guage and can put deer down but they kick hard
find what shoots best for you.I like a 20 we dont have too many long shots in east tennessee.everything is up close & personal around here.
They are lighter and easier to shoot, but a 12 gauge will deliver more punch than a 20 gauge, no matter what the circumstances are.
20 ga is a good choice with ammo advancements and the fact the gun is lighter.
I prefer my 12ga Mossberg 500 and it doesn't kick hardly at all, it's accurate and hits hard for sure.
Both are good choices. It's ultimately up to you the shooter/owner as to brand preferance and ga.
