Q:
I'm goin hog huntin tomorrow and saturday and I just picked up a wind Primos wind checker and some little clip with a feather attached. When I use up all the powder in the wind checker up, what can I put back in there to save the five bucks it cost? And also, do these feather things work, or just a gimmick?

I tie a divided brown, green or grey strand of yarn attached to my guns barrel, my ramrod, my bows stabilizer and on branches around my stands. (bits of yarn can be bought at fabric stores for as little as ten cents a bunch) I make a bottle of wind checker last all season and uaually find them on clearance after deer season for a buck a bottle.

Problem with a feather is that it only tells the wind where it is placed. Drifting dust tell you a bit more at times.
