You know, honestly, I don't know of any quality scopes under $100...but a Nikon Prostaff will do the job just fine. They start at $119.99 on Cabelas.com and are well worth the extra money.
I agree with Bio and Jim. A scope is something that if you cheep out on you will regret it untill you replace it. Save your pennies a littler longer and get a better one. If you are wanting to spend less do what I did and get a Fixed power 4X scope. You will have exceptional durability and clarity and it will cost you less than a variable.
It's not on a shot gun but I have a Leupold FXII 4 x 33 on my Tikka T3 270 win and I love it.
Mounts are also important. You can have the best scope in the world but if it's not solid to your gun it will be useless.
When I think of a scope on a shotgun, I picture a 1X or 2X, and the thought of a variable power just seems bizarre to me. Just what you need for a 50 yard shot - a 6-20X50 scope. "More is better". Well, as the saying goes, different strokes for different folks.

Shotguns have much more recoil than you may think. Don't go too cheap. I liked BioGuy's advise.
Also make sure you have a cantilever Rifled slug barrel, the scope will be much more stable.
