I never got too excited about it. Back in the old days in Montana I usually just forgot all about it until either the refund check or tag came in the mail. There's lots of over-the-counter hunting so it's no biggy. If you really want to get into some sure-fire action drop that crap-shoot-tag stuff, buy yourself a good dog, and take up bird hunting. Lots more game to see/shoot at, licenses are usually a helluva lot cheaper, and ammunition isn't terribly expensive yet easy to buy. And the technocrap, if that interests you, is just about boundless for bird hunting, especially waterfowl.
oh i love bird hunting! i don't have a dog but i have put many a mile on my boots chasing birds. my wife says that i go bird hunting just to go for a walk with my shotgun.
I do not enter the draw in New York for a Doe permit any more. In Ohio i can get a Buck and 6 does so I do not need any more. Usually i just get one or two.
Easy, go out to the ball park and watch some baseball
Just put in for Colorado deer and elk. Deadline is 4/2 so you best hurry.
In Fl. We have a cool system 2 Bucks a-day every day till Doe week, 1 Doe per-day for 6 days and 1 buck the day you get a Doe or 2 bucks with NO Doe.
Got my CO deer in a while back. Just put in for cow elk this morning.
I'm waiting on my first elk tag response. I probably won't get it and like Ontario, don't get too excited about it until I see they charged my credit card or the tags show up in the mail. I just keep practicing and exercising so if I get a chance I am as ready as I can be.
