The bill was discussed last January through March. Apparently it was introduced in both the state house and senate. There was overwhelming opposition to extending the deer season at the March Alabama Conservation Advisory Board meeting. N. Gunter Guy Jr., Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), said he has been in contact with the bill’s sponsors and asked that no action be taken on the legislation until a thorough study can be conducted. http://www.thewetumpkaherald.com/sports/outdoors/article_34b99176-51a4-1...
What PH said about the season---I agree with leaving the season as is since it already runs from mid Oct. through the end of Jan.
Regarding baiting, they might as well make it legal since every Walmart, feed store and gas station advertises and sells "Deer Corn". The local feed and seed store folks say they couldn't make it if it weren't for selling corn during deer season.
