i sometimes walk out of my stand in the morning and blow the grunt call every 50 to a 100 yrds walking slow and scanning for movement as i walk i have run into many bucks that come to challenge. be sure to watch and try and stick to an edge of a field or trial. also pretty effective for bucks that hang up out of range when sitting in a stand.
Im a hunting guide at a deer ranch, and obviously also a very avid fair-chase hunter. It all depends on the area you are hunting and what size bucks are in your area! you can grunt/rattle/bleat and so on any small cerious buck! although to call in a bruiser, you must be able to use your calls properly! Best advice in short answer, stay away from the snort weeze!

All I've ever done to call them is is to rattle antlers and it has worked
I would say rattle, I use the other Grunt calls when I can already see the deer and want them to come in a bit closer with out making and movement
