Q:
The past two times I've gone hunting, when I entered the woodline to go down to my stand, I heard something leaping away in the crunchy leaves... I imagined I spooked a deer;however, It didn't blow at me... Is this common? If so how can I fix this... I would enter from another spot but there isn't another way in...

you are probaly entering the deers bedding area if they dont blow they dont know what you are enter the woods quieter and earlier without a big flash light
Sometimes if its a buck they will take off without snorting. Does normally will snort but like cody r said if they dont know what you are they wont snort when they take off.
Crunchy leaves will make a one pound squirrel sound like a hundred and twenty pound deer. The fact that it happens twice leads me to believe it's squirrels.
If there really isn't another way in, and you can't get any quieter, you're going to keep disturbing the deer. What about breaking YOUR routine? Hunt your stand late instead of early. Or, since you know where they bed, move to cover their siesta or bedtime?
