Good question. Some people say it is OK to do it and some people use bottles. I've even herd some people say they make mock scrapes and pee in them. I really wonder if it works?

Ive heard many thoughts on this.... in my hunting circle, the thought is it seems to be okay, if not even a bit of an attractant but Ive heard alot of good points against it too. I believe there was an article covering this very question in a Field & Stream mag from this year and its findings where that it would be okay to pee out of the stand. I would just say dont make it a habit because of the potential to train a deer to knowing when your in the stand or not.... pee smell = hunter. Haha but then again... when nature calls, we cant really help it except to climb down.

I just hold it in until I finish hunting. Not drinking excess water really helps.

Wet the tip of your finger ... check the wind, and let it fly!

I actually started to place a trail cam on a scrape that I had urinated in, but someone stold my memory card. I took the trail cams out to prevent theft.

One of the recent Deer and Deer hunting magazines actually dug deep into this question. The verdict: let it fly!!

I have a stupid answer to a very good question. While I would hesitate to intentionally anoint the area around my tree like that, a couple of years ago I had just settled into my tree stand when the cold chills and sweats set in, followed by cramps holding time trials behind my belt buckle. You know exactly what I'm talking about, we've all been there. I went down the tree as quickly as possible (Tarzan would have been proud), and bailed down off the ridge as quick as I could go, trying to get as far away from my tree as possible, and leaving a trail of clothes, calls, binocs, range finder, etc. behind me. I got maybe 100 yards away from my tree when it all broke and there is where I took care of a very pressing matter. As I collected myself and my stuff on my way back to the tree, I figured it was "game over", no deer was coming within a mile of that place today. An hour or so later, I arrowed a nice doe. I don't know if I just had the wind right or what, but was really surprised, but why take a chance, use the bottle, not all the deer are as reckless as that one was. I know, long on story, short on point. Sorry.

i've always thought the smell of human urine would drive a critter away. however last year while camping i went over and pissed on a tree and turned around ten minutes later and there was a blacktail doe licking it up. going for the salt is all i could figure. now i just dont sweat it.

I used to 'bottle' it, now I let it fly. May go back to the bottle after this poor season. If you can hold it the entire hunt, you either have a WAY bigger bladder than me, or you aren't hunting long enough.

Look, im not going to sit in my stand and be miserable all day. I have heard it alot about you should bring a botte. I have had deer walk up on me WHILE I WAS PEEING, and they didnt care. Just pee out of the stand. Dont sit there and be miserabe cause then you cant concentrate on hunting.
