around here i have noticed that most of the scrapes are under holly trees why is that i know deer will bed under holly trees but these trees where i find the scrapes the trees are not big enough for to bed under

In Nh they dont sleep where they scrape. They are usaully bed down in a downfall tree or under the big low hung pines. the rubs and scrapes are more of a territorial thing. A bed will look just like what it is. Leaves and branches pressed down from them laying down. they dont clear the ground to sleep.
scrapes around here are under oaks
i see scrapes under other trees to but i would say about 80% are under holly trees
