Q:
Since the clocks changed should you hit the stand earlier? I mean if you get out in the stand at 6 and it gets like at 645 yeah you get more time of light but how long the deer been up, should you get in the stand around 530?

gets "light" not like sorry did really look at the edit part carefull.
"didn't" look at. ( i been up since 3:45) got in bed about 12.
There is no difference in the amount of light in the day with the change. It has just shifted an hour earlier.
The deer has been up at the same amount of time as he was last week. To a deer, on their body clock, there is no difference. They do not go off of a watch. The sun is still rising at the same time, it just seems like it is rising at a new time since we manually changed the clocks.
Every year, the deer forget to set their clocks back. It's like they don't even bother to read the newspaper or watch the TV news.
Deer set their clock next to their bed an hour earlier just like we do. In result, get into the stand the same time you would normally because they wake still wake up at 6:30 ish.
As long as you get in there at around 20-30 minutes before light you should be okay because deer usually wont show up for at least 45 minutes to an hour after light
I get to my stand an hour earlier now.
I think it's best to get on stand at least one hour before sunup as twilight comes much earlier than sunup.
I can't believe I even read this thread.........
Wow... You hunt by light, not by time. The deer don't have clocks.
here's your sign
My EX-father in law jumped my ass one time because I woke him on a daylight savings time morning to go squirrel hunting. He said, Why are you here so early? I said the damn squirrels don't know what time it is!
Well said, Kentucky Hunter! LMAO
Some people surprise me. Several hunters around here were an hour late geting to the stands not thinking about the deer not acknowleding DST. I heard all the trucks coming into the area after the sun was up and was sitting my stand laughing.
Of course. Im always in my stand before first light. no matter when that light is.
Yes because it is going to get light earliier. You can use the dark as camo to get into your stand.
