To stick's Mom-
Yes ma'am, they surely do. My maternal Grandmother was a dead shot with a single shot .410, and accounted for many, many skunks and squirrels. Some of the ladies of my acquaintance are just as avid deer hunters as their husbands and boyfriends. There are several ladies that post on this forum that hunt everything from small game to deer, hogs and bears.
Lots of women hunt, too bad more women have not been introduced to hunting. Some women if giving the chance to go, love the sport and the enjoyment of the outdoors. I wish my wife had a desire to hunt. I've invited her to set in my ground blinds with me just to take pictures of the wildlife that may pass buy, she has declined so far, but I keep trying.
Yes they do! my wife just had foot surgery to correct some tendon damage and if this fixed her foot well enough for to get out she wants to try hunting. My daughter has decided yet but who knows maybe/maybe not. Also my Grandmother hunted.
To Stick, Thats a big YES, not only do we hunt but We love it as much as men do. There is no greater feeling then getting up at dusk, getting yourself set in your treestand or ground blind, and waiting for the morning to say hello, and if you are so blessed to come face to face with Mr. Bones ( A big whitetail) then WOW!!!!! It is really something. I have been around hunters my whole life Grandfather, father, uncles, cousins, husband, all men. Then one morning I as my husband if I could go with him, after he said are you kidding! He took me out He put me in one of his stands and then left me to go to his. As the animals began to wake and come out and the sun began to rise, I was greated by 8 does, 6 fawn, and 2 button buck in the field in front of me. I was hooked. I have hunted ever sence and love it still. So Stick if your mother ever want's to give it a try. I would be glad to have her come with me, I live in Florida, Cgull that goes for your wife too, I will always love to share this great sport with any man woman or young person who would want to learn about it.
Yes..:)Many women love to hunt..
According to the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, 1.2 million women hunt in America..They account for 9 percent of the total hunting population!!!
They certainly do! My wife has hunted a variety of game with me now for over 20 years. She also enjoys target shooting and raising hunting dogs. Click on my avitar and you will see a picture of Mrs. Beekeeper with a doe she took this year.
My wife does not hunt but she loves helping with the retrievers! Matter of fact, she accomplished most of the puppy training for our big black dog.
The two sisters of the boys I have been mentoring in hunting say they want to start hunting. They have gone goose hunting with us and their Dad a few times sans guns, but they are very interested. Not afraid of a little cold and wet either!
My wife doesn't hunt but take a look at my profile and you will see pictures of several ladies that hunt real well. The youngest is my niece who has gotten several deer each year since she was 14. Many of the women in my family and among my friends love to hunt. Like me, they enjoy the outdoors and watching wildlife. They also like getting some nice steaks for the table and enjoy the fruits of their hunting. Most of my female hunting buddies seem to prefer deer hunting to bird hunting though.
Of course women hunt. I have been hunting for over 43 years and can't imagine life without hunting. I was "DAD's boy" back when I started. Although my Granny Smith could shoot a gun really well and defended her turf (chicken house and yard) from intruders, she didn't go afield and hunt. She was too busy caring for her 10 children, but when I came along, she was very supportive of the idea that I wanted to go hunting with Daddy every time he went. I sure am glad that I didn't have brothers or they may have been granted passage into the hunting fraternity instead of me. I take every opportunity that I can to take a new person -- male or female -- hunting.
