I have heard both sides. I am a smoker. I smoke before I leave the truck in the morning. And when I get back. Itry not to smoke in the woods. I have friend that smoke all the time. They have gotten deer. One buddy tells his story as he puts down his smoke cause it interferes with his rifle and scope, Then he shoots!
I don't think so. My uncle smokes alot and you should see the deer he gets.
I doubt if many Bowhunters smoke in their stand. It can't help.
I think it depends on what type of hunting you are doing. Smoking would be less of a problem when rifle hunting as compared to bow hunting. Also, I'm sure wind direction plays a huge role in this also.
"Peaty" says nope. Ran by me at 5' when I was smoking, on the ground. He saw me move to check out a "sound" behind me.
I would say that it does because the deer dont even come around my house when the woodstove is going.
i have found out it dont matter unless the wind is against you but i recomend that you dont smoke cause that way you will have a better chance of filling your tag
I smoke when hunting and I don't believe it's ever really been an issue. I've gotten deer when I had to put out my cig to shoot them. But who knows how many I haven't seen because they smelled it and kept their distance. It's a toss up. But I would say that you could never go wrong by NOT smoking in the stand. . .
I don't think it scares away the deer. I hear stories all the time about people seeing and shooting deer while smoking.
no, it doesnt scare them.
yup they scare them away
