First off don't take this personally. But I've been an auto tech for over 25 years and I got to tell ya there is a reason Ford didn't need a "bail out". And if they didn't need constant repairs I probably wouldn't have a job.

I drive an '01 silverado and havent had any issues with it. But that is my last. gm, government motors can KMA. Insteading of reorganizing, they became obummers shills. Ford, which is still a privately held (majority) company, went to its workers and spoke the truth. You can either accept reforms to your contract or you can be unemployed. To their credit the Ford employees recognized the truth and today they reap the benefits. My next truck will be a Ford. My only disappointment in 2012 is that no one in the automotive biz introduced a med sized PU with a 2.8/3.0 lt diesel engine! What the hell! This is the work of obummers epa. Twice the fuel mileage of a gas engine and more torque. but the enviros are down on diesel, at our expense. -OMG- obama must go. Tell me who wouldnt buy a toyota tacoma with a 2.8/3 litre diesel? guess what they make em, just not for USA.

It needs the Cummins 4BT!!!!! I might arrange for a long term lease on my soul if that happened. Put either a 6sp man, or auto behind it. Rubicon package (with the Dana 44's) would be a sick combination.

The Rubicon comes with the CRD in the rest of the enlightened world. the gas engine is the option. C-4bt i never heard of it, gonna check it out.

I know this thread is cold, but want to add anyway. This morning (2Feb) on the way to work, AND I was behind and brand new scrambler (with a short bed). The tail gate said JEEP. I tried to get close enough at a traffic light to read any dealer or body ship stickers but couldn't find any. Anybody seen 1?

Probably was a jeep unlimited 2 door. almost but not quite the scrambler. i was certain that jeep was going to bring our a new P/U in '12 based on the wrangler frame, but no dice. if they would bring it on with a diesel, yeh baby.
