Q:
I have a small area in kansas to hunt just outside of town, so there are houses surrounding. There are lots of deer signs but I think they are moving through at night. Is there a way to train them to visit the morning or early evening.

I can tell you if there is plenty of buck sign wait till the rut kicks in full swing and i dont think you will have any problems seeing deer the bucks will be moving more in the daylight hours and most places you find them traveling mostly a night turn into hot spots during the daylight hours the rut should turn your spot into a day light travel zone try hunting midday it will probly suprise you good luck.
Salt licks and molasses, Corn, apples, Doe in heat estrus, etc.
metro area deer are usually not as afraid of humans thats about as trained as it gets minus the fence. i would try rattling grunting decoying anything to try and draw them out of where they bed. thats the key if they are not bedding on your property then identify if u can where they do bed and localize your tactics to that area dont' over hunt a small area though.
I dont think you cant actually train them but to increase your chances you can put out foods that you know the deer like. If you have any oak trees nearby then collecting a good sized pile of acorns could increase your chances. Good Luck!
