See if you can find some deer trails going to the pond or creek. Place it along the trail to see some deer. Another good thing would be to bait if you are willing to and place the camera facing the pile.
With a little scouting you should be able to find where the deer are traveling around the pond and through the brush. Set up the cam a bit back from the trail. Make sure you spay yourself down with scent blocker and wipe down the cam with the same so not to spook them!
Find where the deer are traveling and put in there. Like jordjohn44 said use some bait to get them to come where you want them to. then place the camera on the bait pile.
even a good stream crossing i just pulled 1 of mine of a stream and had deer walking in the stream as a trial during the day. careful though make sure to strap your cam to a good tree and tightly some of the stock rigging doesnt hold 2 great. if you cant bait just rub apples on trees theyll hit the smell. and hang around for a good view.
I would suggest looking for a spot just as though you were looking for a spot to hunt. Try find a place where a couple good trails intersect, or a scrape line. You can also try as some have suggested and bring them in with deer cane or some other bait. I prefer to just try find where they already want to go and set up there. Another good spot would be to find where they are crossing that creek. If you are lucky there could be a single spot where they do most of there crossing. Hope that helps! Good luck.

If you have a good funnel that would be a place to set it up.
