Here are a few that so far have been very reliable from my experiences. Barnett Preditor CRT , Arrow Precission Infreno Firestorm & Excaliber Equonox. Both the Preditor & Firestorm fire 22" bolts at over 375fps and are extremely accurate, enough to tube arrows out to 40 yards. The Excaliber is not as fast but very accurate @ 330fps. Having seen these in action and having used the Firestorm myself I know they are well built and reliable. All 3 are in the $600 range without extras.
Go with an Excaliber, lifetime warranty.
I am pleased with my new Tenpoint crossbow. If you are looking for improved accuracy, be sure to get an accudraw cocking devise.
I looked at Wicked Ridge crossbows by 10 point. They are priced under $600 with a scope.
