Q:
I was wondering if anyone has applied for a Quota Hunt in there area? Did you get drawn?I've hunted a WMA about an hour and a half from home, and I just got drawn along with two other guys to hunt this land. Matter of fact, I'm leaving after I type this to get in a couple of days bow huntin' before the week end. I'm still huntin' a MONSTER but will take a deer just to celebrate the hunt and being with friends.I'm stoked!

Fort Chaffee Arkansas first day Muzzle Hunt and I have my brand new Savage and they got some real MONSTERs out there and its been closed to all hunting last year! YA"BUBBY!
Hi 2Poppa
Yep, I applied for WA limited entry hunts for deer and elk with 7 and 6 preference points respectively. Struck out this year big time. Didn't get drawn in WA, and no Colorado deer tag and did not see an elk to shoot at! So I guess it is chargrilled elk tag for me this year. LOL
Best of luck to you!

Goodluck with your hunt 2poppa. In Ohio we do not have draws or at least any I'm interested in. Just buy your tag and hit the woods.
While your gone I'd be happy to look over your monster for you. I'd hate to see anything happen to it. I promise not to shoot it. (fingers crossed) And no thanks necessary. That's what friends are for. Ole buddy ole pal. lol
Good Luck, Good Hunting and GOD bless 2poppa !
I have never done a quota hunt before but I recently applied for a special quota archery deer hunt on Georgia federal ground. The drawing is in December and I hope to give it a try... if I get lucky, it will be my first quota hunt. I am heading to a WMA in Georgia on Saturday for a wild hog hunt. Since it is deer season, I may get lucky and encounter a nice buck too but will primarily be stalking hogs. Good luck on your hunt!
Well guys, the quota hunt was a lot of fun ... and a lot walking. I've hunted this WMA and know how big the bucks can be. It's adjacent to some private land I'm allowed to hunt.
One of my buddy's got a doe and a 10-pointer. We were so far back,we had to go off of the WMA,and ask a land owner if we could drive our truck back on his land to get the 10-pointer out.
The first day I had a beautiful 8-pointer come by trailing a doe. He had tall tines, white as snow. He looked to be 2-years old and full of vim and vigor. The wind was blowing and he got a little nervous and moved on down the trail.
I saw another 8-pointer but he wasn't half the buck I mentioned earlier. We had a great time, met some new friends and learned a lot more about the land we love and hunt.
Thanks guys for your comments!
