Q:
Well, my dad finally shot a buck. It's his first one in 5 years because he has had me with him. It's a pretty good story so I thought I would share it with you. He got in the stand at sunrise, at about 9 o'clock, a BIG 8 pt. walked out and layed down out of range. After he layed there for about 2 hours, a nice 6 pt. walked out in front of him and layed down as well. After another 2 hours, the 8 got up, so the 6 got up and tried to bump some heads with the 8...the 8 ran away even though he was considerably larger. So instead of shooting a wall hanger, my dad settled for a smaller but still nice 6 pt.

skeeb, are you bad luck?, how did you keep your dad from getting a buck for 5 years?
Sometimes you haveta' take what's offered. Broke the streak.
Horns are the least important part of it, the MEAT is what I am after, horn is just a bonus! Be happy.
bigjake, I'm not bad luck, he just let me shoot everything! lol
That's very good, the six point will taste better than the older deer anyway.. I take it he was bowhunting?
It doesnt matter how big the deer was as long as you get the thrill out of it.
Yeah tony, he was bowhunting.
