Any buck that you would be proud to show off. I think the story says in your memory better when you can see it everyday. Might not be your biggest buck but it might be the hardest one you had to earn. To me its all personal peference.
They don't get real big very often here in southwest Alabama, south of the Black Belt. A real good one will score 120, but i'm kind of partial to kyle's answer and that's pretty much what's on my walls.
I have one shoulder mount: my first buck, a small 8pt. Everything after that, bigger and smaller, is just the antlers on a plaque.
My brother-in-law has a room full of mounts, of all descriptions.
The decision to mount a trophy comes down to how much of the animal you need around to remember the hunt. I suppose in some minds, there is the idea that there is historical importance to some animals, so they get mounted for posterity. To me, that still can't be expressed in a B&C score.
around here we dont bother with scoring but it ntakes a big 10pt to be put on the wall, the one hanging in my room was my first deer i ever shot and a big typical 12 pt
I reported the error on the submit logic... it is happening on several responses. I hope they nail it. for me a wall hanger is a real heavy 10 pointer or better with a high wide rack and large body size. This would be a 140 or better.
i shot a nice 8 last year and had a European mount done. It was my first buck but i ve pretty much made up my mind that i will not pay for a head mount unless its pope and young or Boone and Crocket. European mounts look great and are alot cheaper. ( also tent to make the rack look bigger)
I mounted my first 130 inch deer i killed while still in high school. The club i hunt in has a 130" minimum for 8 points so usually a 140 inch deer. But as many of you have said, its like a furry picture. I love people coming over and seeing a mount. That usually leads to hours of talking about hunting...

Any hunt/deer that I would especially like to remember. No set score for me!

A 1 would be a wallhanger here, since we don't have whitetails.
Probably about 130 here in WI. More guys are letting the little ones go and it's paying off. We are starting to see more big bucks.

I agree with kyle's answer. And I don't really have a set score.

Since its my second year hunting I've taken one deer so far, any buck to me is a trophy, and to me its about the experience, not the rack size.
about a 12 pointer
!0 point, or higher I have an 11, or any atypical, that's all I want now and only one of those.

In NH we dont get alot of huge ones. Dont have a set score like alot. It depends on the hunt and the meaning!
