It does seem like a chance to taste dog, without the guilt of killing someone's pet. Perhaps it is like in Little Big Man: "Boiled dog; a bit greasy, but the flavor is downright delicate."
I believe that I have read in some survival situation's literature that coyote is not edible, the author had quoted some old trappers testamony about trying to consume yotes they had trapped and their stomachs wouldnt allow it to stay down.Boiled, roasted and fried...each time their belly's would reject it.
Dog is very popular in some cultures, but I cannot say Ive ever heard of coyote beening eaten.
moshie i will pass on the yote back straps thanks , the cat from the local Chinese place is all i can stomach , i just skin my yotes and sell the hide .
Get some good pics of myself and my trophy, haul it to the fur shed and display it's skull on a plague. They are one heck of a trophy especially if you can call them into the kill zone and still have steady enough nerves to hit your mark. Remember to respect the coyote, you are hunting a brilliant hunter.

hear say it taste like chicken.
I dont gut them, I just skin them usually. you can make a euro mount with the skull if you want as well.
I never gut or skin the varmints. Hang 'em on a fence line or leave 'em lay.
In the winter months I'll take their pelts, rest of the year they are used as bait for their flea ridden friends.
I just skin them as well
Skin it and sell it. Gets you quite a chunk of cash
I agree with just skin it. No point in messing with guts unless you are going to eat it, which me personally i wouldn't!
Keep the skull and give it to anyone who'll eat it if you don't want to.I wonder what dog tastes like?
Keep the skin too.

Well I will say in Vietnam in Montagnyard country there were very few dogs, and plenty of meat on the table.

Don't gut them, skin the and sell the hide like cooner says.
skin them and then strech and sell the hides to a fur buyer. you can get alot of cash.
cooner, I passed on a lot of that 'yard food myself when I could, but they took it personally if you did.
Well i normally skin it and keep the head to boil and do a European mount on it.
You can skin at and take the hide. I don't see why you'd gut it unless your oging to try to eat it. But there not good. It's all lean muscle
