Back in January I got a big fox squirrel. The liver had purple dots on it. What does this mean?

Did you eat the squirrel? Wear gloves when you clean it?

I thought rabbit fever was white dots. Where are you located, its more common in some parts of the country.

I ate it and wore gloves when I cleaned it. Its been about 2 and a 1/2 months since I ate it so I don't think its something very bad because I never got sick. I just wanted to know because I'm curious. Canvasbackhunter I'm in northern ohio.

Call your DNR office and ask them if any other hunters have found the same thing,glad your ok!
