Are you wanting to trap them or call them? It matters.

The way I started as a beginner was to soak 2 inch by 2 inch pieces of sponge in a mixture of fish oil and anise oil, about half and half. Then I would wire it about 18 inches high on a fence post or small tree. The closest to a small stream or drainage ditch as possible. I used one and a half double spring traps that I would place under the sponge. Now, I will say every once in a while I would catch a cat or a skunk.
But it really works for beginners.
