As you asked earlier how to make a squirrel feeder.all u have to do is make a squirrel feeder and put a corn cob on it and they will just sit there and nimble/eat the corn right off the corn and the corn that falls brings in even more squirrels. go to a local feed store and pick up a bag of field corn and you will be good to go. Hope this helps. Ask me if you have any more qeustions.

no problem i think you'll get some. i know it sounds weird but you kinda have to build "trust" with them. When i first moved to my new house squirrels wouldnt get within 50 feet from me but now i can get about 10 feet away.

when you see the squerrel you shoot the squerrel and kill it with one shot. you don't need no feeder to squerrel hunt. I hunt without em cuz its illegal to use em anyway.

i actually use field points they dont mess up the meat quite as bad and u shoot as far as u feel comfortable i would suggest waiting to draw when they have there head in the corn

With squirrels around here if you sit nice and still and pay no mind to them they get up to 15-20 feet and usually run around near you. That happens all deer season!

I typically hunt with a shotgun while hunting the woods before the leaves are off the trees. It helps with the running shots, which are more common in earlier season. I've used shotguns from .410 to 12-gauge and in-between. Your comment about blowing them apart with a shotgun leads me to believe that you would be shooting them at point-blank ranges. Obviously that's not the case, as the squirrels are pretty high up in the trees.

If you suddenly get a short-range shot available while using a shotgun, aim past the end of the squirrel's nose by a few inches. The shot pattern will mainly hit the squirrel's head, saving the meat.

A scoped .22 rifle is a lot of fun in the later season when the woods are more free of leaves and the squirrels can stay higher in the trees.
