.410, full choke, 6 shot or 20, modified choke , 6 shot or 7.5
410,SxS Full & Modified chokes 6s/F and 7.5/ M
10" T/C Contender w/ .410 barrel, 3" #5 shot.
I tend to grab what is handy. Either my 12 gauge 835 with 2 3/4" low brass #7.5s or I grab my smaller turkey model single shot H&R. Usually run a improved cylinder for squirrel, sometimes modified if I feel froggy.
20 guage modified choke 6 shot
410 full 6 20 full 6 12 full 6
are you eatin lead or squirrel?
22/410 mod 24f savage with 2 3/4 # 5's thru a mod barrel thats been back bored
Havent used a shotgun on squirrels for many years. When I did I used a 20 w/ #4's... I only use a .22 now..
12 gauge modified choke 6 shot
20 ga full choke #6 shot and if I need to shoot a few extra ft I use high brass.
First year I hunted with a single shot 410 full choke, after that first year it was a 22 bolt Marlin.
20 Gauge with a HS Undertaker Turkey Tube, one ounce #5 shot. I use it early season when the leaves are still on and the squirrels are cutting Hickory nuts high in the trees. No, it doesn't tear them up at all.
I prefer a .22
What I started hunting squirrels with 52 years ago. Iver Johnson Champion Single shot 12 guage, full choke, and # 4 shot. That is about all anyone in my neck of the woods hunted squirrels with at that time, other than some people hunted with a .22 rifle.
i use A 20.GA WITH FULL CHOKE BUT IF UR TAKING A KID THAT IS NEW A HUNTING BUT U STILL WANT TO USE A 20.GA USE MODIFIED CHOKE AND DON'T USE A IMPROVED CYLINDER OR TURKEY CHOKE BECAUSE U WILL EITHER BE PICKING OUT PELLETS OR THERE WILL BE NOTHING LEFT TRUST ME I'V DONE IT BEFORE AND USE A 6# SHOT TO 4# SHOT
