I have always used Federal .22 long rifle hollow point. I pick up a box of 500 rounds or so and that last me a little while. That is the joy of a .22 there ammo is cheap. Hopefully it stays that way.
Whatever is accurate in your gun. Personally, I don't think the .22 hollow points add much in the way of killing power for squirrels. A .22 to a squirrel is like a 12 ga slug to a coyote. Have never seen any tests, though. The bullets I've found were just deformed rather than expanded. Head shots have worked best for me, so expansion is a moot point. Actually, come to think of it, I have killed many squirrels with .177 flat point pellets.
Hollow Points or Solids really doesn’t matter because you don’t have the sectional density in a squirrel for a hollow point and for what matters most is the accuracy that counts!
Whatever I can hit the fast little suckers with, normally CCI but lately I would shoot any brand I can find because there is none left in my little town.
i like hollow points they seem to put them down a little quicker, just about any will work. Id shoot some of different brands to find what your gun likes

Most states require that if you use a .22 you must use .22 long rifle hollow tips.

Like usmcturkey said, a 22 hp knocks them off a limb better than a solid.

You all get an "A". .22 hollow points.
i like .22 HP
.22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer?
Barnes Varmint Grenade
I like the CCI Stinger.
Standard velocity solid point.
Rabbit police I don't know about that hollow point requirement. I don't see it in the GA regs...
I like Hollow Points. I shoot Blazer and CCI and remington. Although CCI are DANG expensive.
Any of 'em. You gotta shoot well.
Hallow points.
my gun likes cci and remintion but i find my self shooting remintion most of the time becase it cheaper
Remintion????
the one that kills them
I usually use Remington hollow-points. CCI small gane rounds work great too.
Obviously whatever your gun shoots the best. If you're going to put him on the dinner table, I swear by the CCI SGBs (if you can find em).
