Q:
In the old days we would hunt crows with a rolling block 22. What we wore for CAMO was a white shirt and chinos [kakis to you young guys]. This worked for us. Anyone out there remember or use this method or is it time to put me in a home. Is there something hinkey in a crows vision like deer?

Ha Carl: Back in the day when I lived in New York(30yr)ago we hunted for crows in the start of fall
season we would put out a Owl on a 12'poll with a crow taped to its feet, we hid in the brush with shot guns, and 2 boxes of shells each that was some fast shooting. Thanks Carl!!

I've hunted crows in full white in the winter, the same way I hunt coyote, but I have never done the white shirt and chinos.

Before camo, I hunted crows in olive drab (G.I. fatigue shirt). I wouldn't expect to have any luck hunting crows in a white shirt. Yet it worked for you. Those crows must have thought you were albino cows.

I thought it was because they could'nt pick our outline against the sky on a ridge. We first got wind of this in an article in American Rifleman {I Think 1961-63]
