I prefer to wear a back pack, that way I can carry pastic bags with me and field strip/clean my game as I go.. no fleas in the bag/coat.
plus I have my water, knife, and wet wipes for my hands.
heck if your really up for it, bring along eating utensils and have what I call a shore lunch for small game... leave all stuff at vehical or put into pack, start fire and enjoy on the spot!
my tip is to get one quite a bit bigger size than 'just fits', that way it will still fit when you put layers on, and also easier to access the back bag
I have a Walls that is really nice for $30. It's for upland birds but I guess it would work okay for squirrels. Never hunted them. If you need camo, I guess you'd have to look at something else.
I just use a $25 vest from Wally World. Its a Remington and has quite a few hiding spots for shells, as well as large pockets and a good-sized back pocket.
