Q:
Tomorrow I am hitting it first light and for the first time this year the temp will be in the 40's! I should be able to wear full kit, up till now have had to strip it down a bit. Anybody else love to hunt when it gets below 50 in the morning?

I'm definitely a cool/cold weather hunting fan. This is my first year bow hunting and being out in when it's in the 80s is odd...give me below freezing at daylight and 40-50 in the day...and I'm a happy camper.

AGREED! I'm all about having around 25 degrees in the morning, warming to mid-40s. We have woken up to below 40 degrees the last two mornings. This whole having a job thing really sucks on mornings like that. Ha.

I have a hard time getting excited about hunting in summer weather conditions. Those first few cool fall mornings really raise the excitement and often the deer activity.

I'll hunt in any weather. I was duck hunting in a short-sleeve shrit (it was around 65) last weekend. I've hunted all the way down to 18 degrees, with snow (in south-east Texas). I personally like the cold more, seeing as Texas is hot most of the year.

The colder the better! It seems that no matter how cold it gets you always warm right up when you bag somthing.

It's been in the low 60's during the days and down to the 40's at night here in Kentucky.
I've been out in the woods for the last several days and they are moving ... had to pass on some nice bucks, until the Monster shows himself again!

I like the days right after a snow storm...in the 20's, where you can see a deer's breath, and the steam from the bullet holes....best hunting weather I can think of...no worries about hanging meat or any of the other things that come with hot temps...

I truly love hunting in the cold. I don't care what the species is I like the cold. I was always taught that animals will move more in the cold and I believe that is true. I've shot my best bucks at +20 to -5 degrees. Throw in a fresh tracking snow and it doesn't get any better.

I need a couple of frost to kill the mosquitos around where I hunt. I've been bowhunting on the ground and nothing worse than a bug getting down your neck while your holding steady with deer around. I also hate long drags in hot weather. Give me anything below 35 degrees.

I love the cold weather for hunting. Being that I am in GA, I have seen it in the 70's in December before.
Usually it's a case of the mosquitoes arguing over which one is going to carry you off before the big ones find out you're there.

I would love to hunt in the snow. My Canada trip didn't come together this year due to finances and family conflicts.

I like it when its cold and got a good frost on the ground the air has a bite to it. You can hear a gnat fart in that kinda weather. Bushy tails and cottontails are free of wolves and usually on the move.

Safe hunting guys and gals. Saturday I'll be out with my bow.
