It just depends on the given night. Sometimes they move a little before its dark sometimes early sometimes late. Sometimes all night sometimes not at all. If the moon is full it seems to me that you have worse luck usually but I've had average nights with a full moon as well as above average nights with a full moon too. There's no formulas, only one way to find out-- get out there
Amen, Brian V. The weather conditions also have a lot to do with it as well, is bad weather on the way, has it been hot, etc. Like Brian said, get out there.
I agree with Brian.Full moon I go at about 11 or 11 30.Good luck buddy!
Raccoon will start moving right after dark. If we're roading we will usually start at 8:oo pm. If we plan on walking the stream banks, lot of work, we'll usually go out later. The population is booming here in Maine. There is no market for the fur, as in the past, and no hunters locally.
