Would your chances of getting a raccoon/fox be better late at night or in the early morning?

You're chances are better after dark with the raccoon. Fox on the other hand will come into calls during the daylight fairly easy depending on your location and hunting pressure they are getting at the time. baby raccoon screams work rather fast for raccoons right at dusk on and will occassionally bring in a fox,coyote etc as well.

I agree with deerhunter... except I like driving around at sunup spotting foxes that are still out hunting. This is still fox mating season though and on a sunny day, you will see the males out moving all day. I just recently plinked a couple males that were sleeping on their girl friend's freshly dug mound. With snow, the new mounds and red fur are visible from about 2 miles or so. Calling for foxes is good all day as long as you can set up near heavy cover or well travelled fence rows.
