I saw one in a zoo, but i'v seen a few melanistic ones in the wild. If you see one consider yourself lucky. Squirrels are pretty low on the food chain and im pretty shure white ones dont last to long out there in the wild.

Not that I can remember, but I have seen melanistic ones.
I've seen a pibald squirrel...had lots to white with gray patches...and I have seen lots of black squirrels.

Black squirrels are common in Ohio. There's also some grey and those brownish ones. Never seen a albino one though. That would be a sight for me!

Yes i have seen more than one. In missouri down at the lake of the ozarks in southern missouri.
I've seen a few in Northern Maryland. They always make you look twice.
I have seen two of them here in northwestern Kansas. They look very creepy with their red eyes!
