All right my fellow hunters!! Has anyone had the luxury of opening the deer season around you? By this I mean did you fire the first shot around you on opening day?

Nope, passed on "Peaty" AGAIN !(lol)
Every year I say I going to but every year the same old story not me opening the season. LOL Its no big deal but I think it would be cool to do it one time. Cant wait for the WI opener this weekend!!!!

does hitting one with a truck on the way to the stand count?
I only heard one shot on opening day...and that was my shot at about 2:30 in the afternoon. I don't know if I'm hunting in such a remotes place or the weekend was just crappy for the rest if the people, but i made my shot count and that's all that matters to me
TheClown that owns the property behind where I was, had 2 cases or more of centerfire to burn up, BANG! BANG! BANG! ALL DAY LONG!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep I did! I know because Im the only one that hunts this remote area! I love the Frank church wilderness!
I wish but I got stuck working and couldn't get out
Not I,. the first three of my stands I went to had hunters setting in them, I had to settle for my forth blind. Some people, geez. I will now start locking my platforms to the seat so no other hunter can use my stands.
let me add also that another of my stands had ladder stands placed 50yrds west and 75 yrds east of my stands location. I hunt the Ouachita National Forest of Arkansas, surely these people can find deer sign that has no stand for themselves.
Nope, but I usually benefit from the dear coming in my direction if the first guy misses! :)

I was their when my dad and our friend let the led fly right at opening hours. First ones to shoot.
This year my dad shot a 5x5 10 minutes after it opened, but i never did just saw someone.
