Q:
Curse of the Wolf???? Maybe the anti's were right and the spirit of the wolf is messing with my deer season....I have seen 100's of bucks this fall, but the only ones I could have taken have been in the 120 or smaller range...this weekend's hunt made me wonder what the heck was going on with my luck in the deer woods...I hunted the National Forest hard for 3 days, lots of snow, great conditions...Saturday I was hiking back into one of my favorite spots, and was seeing lots of fresh sign and feeling good about my chances, when I had a close encounter with a wolf..he came trotting around the corner of a skid road and dang near ran into me, thought I would have to kick, or rifle butt him to avoid a collision...he was as startled as I, and looked as if he was shot out of a cannon as he grabbed gears and peeled out in the snow and off in the brush. I continued on up to an opening I planned to watch..but the wolf, either complaining to me for interrupting his hunting, or sounding the alarm to others, proceeded to howl and Ki-Yi around the clearing for over an hour..so I called it a day. Then yesterday I jumped a very large whitetail, bigger than any I've ever taken, and as I pulled up the rifle for a quick shot I bumped the brush and had a pile of snow dumped on me, filling my scope with snow. I then tried to blow my grunt tube to stop the buck, but it was also plugged with snow...I then proceeded to throw a tantrum like a 3 year old being told "No" in the toy isle of Walmart......I posted a pic of one buck I passed on last Thursday, maybe I need to quit being so picky....or maybe the wolf's spirit is haunting me....

Note...I haven't tagged anything since the wolf, was in on several successfully hunts for elk and deer, and helped with the taking of those, but a big 0 so far for my horn wall and freezer at home this fall...
Get it off your chest!
If I can cry in my beer too, in my case some nice planned hunts had to be cancelled.
Well Idaho maybe the spirt of the wolf is watching and keeping you from taking a deer that aint big enough. So hold out and who knows you might get the biggest deer you've ever taken.
Good luck on your hunts. Hope that they get better.
Ignore the curse and keep plugging away. Good luck I am jealous that you saw 100's of bucks. That would be incredible. Hearing your stories makes me want to move out to Idaho.
I've seen a couple of the deer you've passed on. There's no Curse, just a selective hunter.
It's all about the hunt! I'd bet one of the tree huggers put a voodoo curse on you. Go out and have a soyburger to clear your Karma, you'll be fine... He, He, He, He....
A future of tofu awaits you.....
Whack another wolf until you break the bad juju!

Dear Idaho,
I have discussed this matter with my brother in law who lived in the New Orleans area for over 20 years and as a school teacher was the frequent victim of voodoo curses issued by his students. He became quite adept at removing such curses. He said he would be willing to remove any curse or as WMH says, "bad juju" quote unquote that may have been placed upon you. His conditions... a plane ticket to Idaho and a shot at a 120 class buck! Sounds like a good deal to me...
I'm having a bad year and I never shot a wolf? I know what it is! In my case it's the curse of the squirrel. ROAR!!!!
Sounds like my luck indeed. To date have passed on a ten, a nine and 2 eight pointers. Might end the season without taking a buck this year.
Sounds like Bee's bro-in-law made a good offer.
Maybe its a curse... maybe its a blessing and you'll see the deer of your dreams. at any rate maybe clean that karma with a tofu burger... and hope for a wolf season to open for you next year!
correction looks like wolf season already opened for you I however would be willing to learn how to remove said curse for the opportunity to take a wolf!
It's jus a "cycle" GREAT "draw/hunt" for your wolf, then some "down time" while getting back "up" while hunting for your deer. Don't panic (yet) I'd keep Beekeeper's # on speed dial though (lol).
