Once I was visiting him when his nephew walked out of the woods with about 6-8 grey squirrels in a bag and handed them to Charlie as a gift. My wife cooks them off in the pressure cooker until the meat falls of the bones, then takes the broth and meat and makes a delicious white gravy. Add some home made biscuits and fried potatos and that's all anybody should need. As an aside, my kids and I hunt them with either a .22 rifle or T/C Contender in .22 magnum or .410, no big shotguns, too much shot in the meat. Bon appetite! (spelling???)

To buck hunter 17, it is great. I wish we hadn't even started discussing it, because the season is closed and I never have any hang around long enough to make it to the freezer. To those who parboil before frying, what does that do for the meat? We have always breaded and fried them exactly like chicken. I'm open to new things, so I'll give it a whirl. Is it more moist that way? Smaller ones can get dry before they are golden brown. We sometimes soak them in milk or buttermilk for a while.
