Q:
Firearms safety should always be in the forefront of our minds. The chase is always exciting and some times our guard drops. Not just in how we handle a gun but also in keeping our eyes open for our surroundings. The Quote and link below was sent to me by a former collegue. Thankfully he was not permanently injured. Pete has no idea as to how and why it happened.
"As you may or may not know I was shot in the arm, face, head and neck on Saturday while pheasant hunting in CT. Luckily I sustained no serious injuries and will be fine. If you are interested check out the photo link below to see what I looked like. You can also find the story at nbc.connecticut.com and post my name and hunting for search criteria. I still can't figure out how it happened since I was wearing orange and am 6'5", walking in an open field. Crazy."

Glad you are ok I was once almost shot deer hunting while draging! out one of my biggest bucks by some fool at 50 yrds I was wearing a orange vest and hat. To say we hand words is an understatement.
two weekends ago my two year old was playing outside when a couple quail hunters started shooting on our property, 300 yards from her toy box. . . ever see a mama bear when ya mess with her cubs?
Ouch!
glad to hear your ok bee. you wernt hunting with Dick by any chance were you.
Crazy things happen to good people lately!!!
My neighbor Larry got shot three weeks ago on the shoulder by some fool and I still don't understand why?
I'm sure it was the same scenario as with Dick Cheney, you need to be with people who are super aware of where everybody is, with "can't shoot over that way" burned in the brain when swinging after a bird.
and sober. I remember a little hint that Cheney's group might have been drinking.
Oh, my ... just a bit away from an eye, ear, Adam's apple, or artery. Could easily have been devastating.
Wasn't me guys. But... thanks for the concern!
Just passing this along for a former collegue. Pete has alsways been a very serious and studious upland hunter. He reports that he'll be back out there as soon as his wife is not looking!
one story in VA here a few years ago, someone shot like that the pellet went into an artery and up into the brain and caused a stroke.
