Q:
Got a question about Kennels: I looked at 2 kennels yesterday both are large one is Remington brand the other is a Petsafe pet porter. Both are 79.99. Has anyone ever used these and are they any good. I would like to have somewhere to put my hound when traveling. Thank you for your response.

Both Kennels are good choices. In my experience the Petsafe pet porter's seem to hold up a little longer and are more durable. Put a piece of carpet down or some shavings to help your hound from sliding.

I meant Petmate ...but I'll take that answer. I like that both are made here in the US.
Thanks rmb5110. I think I'll go with the petmate and the carpet is a definite + to know.

I have several of the Petmate ones. They are pretty good overall. +1 on the carpet. I also put one of the thick rubber industrial floor mats that has the round cut-outs (about 1" holes) under the carpet. You will have to cut it to size. If there is a '#1' accident, the dog won't be totally soaked in pee; it will have room to drain below the carpet. Also, when you are traveling, if you have a pickup and your dog is in the back, look into getting one of the covers that is made for kennels. That will cut down on the wind and stress on your pooch.
