I'll start. I would like to go hunting with Ontario Honker Hunter because I like his gruff do-it-yourself hunting philosophy. Seems like I could learn a thing or two about woodsmanship from him.

I have nothing against a single person on this forum, but I don't think I would want to hunt with anyone on here. I enjoy hunting by myself and with my buddies because of the times we have. I wouldn't mind going back to some of my old stompin' grounds in Clarke Co. and hunting with Country Roads.
Huntin' geese with Honker wouldn't be bad but I think a bogus 20 year old game law violation will exclude me from hunting in Cananda.
I wouldn't mind spending a few spring mornings with Bee or share a dove field with "Density Kills" First Bubba. Sharing an elk camp with WAM and exchanging old Bear Bryant stories would be fun.
Suffice it to say, most of the folks on here who have been washed in the blood as a hunter would probably make for good times and memories.

Most of you guys probably think I'd talk too much if we hunted together. That has been a problem but usually only if I have had regular coffee in the morning. Then I often can't stand myself. Keep my drug free and I'm tolerable. Pighunter probably thinks I voted Democrat but of course I can't vote in US anymore.

I would like to hunt with many on here, even some of the folks who probably don't care for me much. RES would probably be at the top of my list. I'd really like to see his dog-handling skills in action. I worked in New Orleans for a while just before Cathy and I were married and travelled through Alabama. Lovely state with great folks. RES, as far as I know old game violations will not bar you from crossing the border (that offense is in a class akin to traffic violations) and they don't do a background check for game licenses. Just bring a current resident game license from Alabama as proof that you know which end of the gun to point. And make sure it is one you can replace easily when you return because they now insist on taking the original. Guess the MNR has had trouble with licensicng agents forging documents. So when are you coming? We have tons of grouse around here to and I'd love to show you some of the watery backcountry. Or perhaps we could connect for a bit pheasant hunting.

I'd love to go elk hunting again and WAM and his buddies would be my choice for that.

I have never had the opportunity to mentor some fresh blood in this sport. I was once a HS teacher and coach. Very, very much enjoyed it and would like to try it again in hunting.

To those who mentioned me by name:

"Thank you very much. It does my heart good to know that I have made a GOOD impact on somebody! LOL!!"

Like many others, there are probably several here that I wouldn't mind hunting with. AT LEAST once!! LOL!!
Others, I'm not so sure, but I'd just as soon not go there!
scratch'! Not much water here in my corner of the Great Southwest, but there seems to be quite a few birds. Not only that, but 100+ temps keep this old cripple from wandering to far from A/C! LOL!! No relief in sight! Not even the extended 14 day forecast! We've had 13 days over 110! Yep, one hundred TEN degrees!
Palumbo and Myles I truly enjoy seeing on this sight and could care less whether we hunted or not, think I would enjoy a sit down visit over a coffee.
WAM and Coop? I'd like to follow them around some afternoon in their "local" community and watch their daily interactions with those they deal with on a daily basis!! It would have to be a real show!
There are several here I would like to just "meet", especially the younger guys that express so much enthusiasm!

Camping and fishing is social, and so is bird hunting, but DIY big game hunting is often a less social affair when it comes down several able bodied folks filling tags, you go your own way out there and group camp and drag. Montana, I'm heading your way (maybe - it's a VERY big state). How did the sharpies fare with that terrible winter? Those things get pretty hard to hunt after the first few weeks of the season. By the time pheasants opens the sharpies are real cagey. Though they are dark-meated, sharptails are one of my favorite uplands for eating. Ruff grouse here are also tough to beat in that category.

DakotaMan,
I appreciate the post. I have always prided myself in having common sense and applying it to my profession and treating everyone like I would want to be treated. Not everything is black and white and there is room for compromise in everything we do. We are all going to make mistakes but the difference is are they really mistakes or are they a conscious effort to violate the law. There is a great difference. I found out if you have to ask if something is illegal it probably is. I would enjoy hunting with anyone here and seeing the different areas and hunting the different types of game that we don't have here in WV. I have hunted the western states some and Canada but there are alot more places that I would like to hunt. I hope that during my career that I have made some small difference and that it may have made it possible for our children and grandchildren to have something to hunt when they are our age. They are going to need all of the help that we can give them because they have so many things against them. I know that sometimes I sound old fashioned but I grew up in an earlier era and it shows sometimes. We are all afraid of change and I guess I am guilty of it.

Waurika has hybrids and sandies with good numbers of blues, flatheads and channels. In the spring it's primo for crappie. Especially along the rip-rap. Caught several last spring in the 14/15 inch class!
Rio Rojo is down to a trickle with the drought we're having. All lakes are VERY low.
Just had a BIG die off in a local, small town,"water supply" lake. Probably due to extreme heat and oxygen loss.
You can still catch pretty good stringers of crappie in deep water. Can't fish past noon. Too everloving hot! LOL!!

Well, it's pretty good for a couple of weeks. Over in Manitoba is where it is ridiculously "great." It is kinda neat to see that many birds working the air but to be all done shooting in twenty minutes isn't a big thrill for me. If it's busy, I'll pass quite a few shots at forty to fifty yard range just because I want to make it last. The perfect day for me is when it's slower or geese are spookier and I have to work for my birds. Then I'm more likely to take the longer, harder shots. In any event, if either of you guys come up, don't expect to burn up a lot of ammo. But you can probably expect to shoot your limit. Most of the time anyway. Had my dogs down to the park for a swim and some retrieving yesterday and they went ape on me. I was not happy! I'll need a week or so to get them back in the groove.

Sorry it took me so long to reply to you Ontario Honker but was on a short vacation. I live in the southeastern corner of MT, and like most of Montana this past winter was real bad. That being said I have been seeing quite a few birds, not a whole bunch yet as they have just started harvesting here. I would say that the bird numbers will be down some, but that hunting should be good. Not many pheasants down here, the cutoff line is about 18 miles north of where I live unfortunately they just don't seem to last down here. I enjoy eating sharptails, I even like eating the prairie bombers( sage grouse)but tend to favor hungarian partridge as table fare. As for ruffies, it has been a decade since I walked the logging trails of Minnesota waiting for a thunderous flush.

LOL!!
