ask questions, post comments, answer questions, etc.
They don't mean squat.
Hoski you forgot all of your answers have to be correct and politically correct and they have to be of a conservative nature or you can't get stars.
You get more stars for more points up to a maximum of 5 stars at 40,000 points. Points are added when you post, when you like someone else's posts, or have someone like your posts. Points are subtracted when you don't like other's posts or if others don't like your posts. Also, points are subtracted if your posts are deleted by the moderator for some reason. Otherwise, the stars are meaningless.
The stars are not a reliable indicator of knowledge, but they do give a hint as to how long a user has been posting on this forum.
You will soon learn to judge the quality of the answers posted without reference to the user's name or number of stars. We all start out with just one. Good luck.
Its how many points you have so you might be chosen to do a gear review.

Anybody remember when the spam was so bad they would get to 5 stars in about a week?
