Primos makes what they call a "doe bleat and bawl" that is a fawn in distress call. It's a sweet call for getting the does attention, it will even get them to come back in even when they are spooked, and can also be used as a predator call too.

I like the "Can" type bleat calls. Several different manufacturers make them. Dunno what they cost but they work great. I have turned several bucks around while chasing does and had them run in to investigate the Can bleat. I have had does come in to the calls as well.

BTW, they come in three different sizes and you can often find all three in one package for a decent price.

primos "the" can is the way to go. Make sure when you tip the can though you get it fully level and don't shake it.

I really don't know a single thing about deer calls ,but I'm interested in what"depredation tags" are and how that works.

Depredation tags are issued to farmers and land owners with a deer population problem. In Iowa a person can get 3 throughout the year, spread throughout the seasons. My family got 30 of them last year. If everyone was there we coul have filled all 30 in one night from one field. They are for antlerless only. Check your states natural resources website to find out about them in your area.

Thank you for the explanation! We don't have anything like that program here in Maine. I wish that we did.

I like the Primos can too. I finally got one last year to try and it accounted for a buck out of my bow stand.
