For people that have not gotten the issue yet it is and ad for porn videos with a F&S discount code for a 50% discount. Any magazine that starts doing this stuff is a sellout in my book, even though I love F&S and will continue to keep my subscription I am disappointed none the less.

Mebbe I'm Old-Fashioned, and the majority of my years is behind me, But I thought this magazine was about hunting and fishing, not pumps and hos. I wish they would confine all thet stuff to a house of Ill Repute and let the rest of us vicariously enjoy the outdoors.

How is F&S a sell out ? Because they sell advertising to pay publishing cost and their employees ? Or is it just because they have an add for porn that makes them a sell out ?

Not edifying at all to the opposite sex, some in society have turned women into a means of seduction and entrapment. Abasing women to the lowest form possible instead of viewing women as simply a sexual thing they need to be viewed as a human being, something to be honored and respected. What happened to chivalry?

I dont particularly agree with it but it pays the bills. I would rather them sponsor fishing/hunting companies, but then again theres a lot of paperwork and contract crap involved with sponsorships. And also, if yo ratio the decent ads with the non-decent ads, they are..(im counting)120 to 4.yeah.thats what I thought.

I would rather them use other sponsors, but it pays the bills. There is a ton of paperwork on contracts involved with all the sponsor crap, so Ill keep my subscription. Its only as big of an issue as you make it. Plus, if ratio the decent to non-decent ads, they are...(Im counting) 120 to 4. Yeah. Your cancelling from four little ads in the back of the book? Just dont read the ads.

I've enjoyed F&S my whole life. If they keep it up, I won't buy it. I'm not a prude but feel that this isn't the place for it. If they can't stay in business as a reputable sport hunting and fishing magazine, let them become a porn magazine. Just don't expect hunters and fishermen to buy it.

Don't read the back pages if you don't like it! Would you rather pay higher subscription prices? That's what it's all about, money, all you do-gooders. Go to church, cheat on your wives and then yell about the magazine adds in the back of your ex-favorite mag. What phonies.

It's just like watchin tv in the middle of the day when soap operas and talk shows are on most channels. What ads do you see? Tampons, diet gimics and birth control pills. Why? Because women are watching! F&S readers are more than likely 99% men. It's the same thing, although advertising porn in a magazine that has many young readers may be a little inapropriate. I can live with it more than I can paying $10 an issue.

Like Beekeeper said, they are just pandering to a prime revenue demographic. According to published statistics, between 54 and 75 percent of you view porn regularly. Those are not my numbers. Look it up for yourself.

That is why many are not offended by this. IMO, nobody makes you look. If you have small kids, tear out those pages or drop your subscription and write F&S and tell them why. Me, I'm going to ignore the ads and keep reading as long as the outdoor content is satisfactory. We have to keep Petzal employed somehow, else he will be on the taxpayer's dole...

If you want F&S to stop putting that crap in their mags then send them the message. Don't say "Well, I don't like it, but that's life." That's not a message. It's a cop-out. Life is what we make it.

When I was growing up every month I looked forward to the day when my dad's American Rifleman magazine came in the mail. It was full of all kinds of interesting stuff. Then after Kennedy was shot they got into the 2nd Amendment crusade and that gradually took over the publication. Final straw for me was when they started marketing phoney cancer insurance. Pulled my subscription and told them why. They gave me the old song and dance that they needed to scam to make the money needed to keep the crusade going.

If I see porn ads up on this forum, I'm outa here. Not a crucifix waver or anything like that. But I am a decent person.

Jim in MO... I don't think that church attendance or cheating on my wife factors into the equation here. I like to have F&S lying around the house so I can read it and I also go through it with my grandaughers and neighbor kids that have shown an interest in hunting and fishing. I personally feel that I should not expose them to that stuff and I feel very comfortable voting with my dollars. There are other magazines and other ways to teach them. I just stick with my principles and if the rest of the world has a different opinion, that is their right. I love free enterprise.
