Q:
I had a post on here awhile back about me finding and nursing a squirrel back to health. Well now he is more of a family pet and its wierd becasue of the things he likes to eat. Has anyone heard of squirrels eating cheese? how bout Mt. Dew? Its crazy because he eats more of what we do then what I would expect him to eat!

I wouldnt feed him that stuff. It is not good for him. Real nuts and access to buds and things in the trees are going to be better.

I'm really surprised that squirrel is still with you. By this much time our two insisted they be on their own.

My grandpa had a pet squirrel. It had a habit of riding around on his shoulder. One day he surprised my grandpa by jumping down on his shoulder when he went by. Grandpa must have been wired. Not knowing what it was he just reacted, grabbed and threw it. Hit a wall and killed it. Last squirrel he had as a pet.

Had a Great-Aunt that had several as pets. Stick with "natural" food for it. Cheese as a "treat" would be o.k.
